Geographic location
The Drochia rayon is located in the northern part of the country, 167 km away from the capital. It is surrounded by the following rayons: to the north – Donduseni, to the south – the municipality of Balti, to the east – by Soroca, to the southeast – by Floresti and to the west – by Riscani, to the southeast by Transnistria and to the east by Ukraine.

Vision on developing the Business Support Infrastructure
Activities foreseen for the “BIOENERGAGRO” Industrial Park
- construction of technical and production infrastructure
Vision of the economic environment development in Drochia:
- assistance for business employees and jobseekers in raising and improving their qualifications, taking into account the needs of the business environment;
- education and training for young people in creating and developing their own businesses, familiarizing them with the opportunities, advantages and risks of entrepreneurial activity;
- training of entrepreneurs (for example: on the procedure for obtaining credits, drawing up business plans, other ways of attracting financial means);
- increasing the information level of entrepreneurs on preferential financing opportunities (including ODIMM projects, cross-border cooperation programs, other foreign donor projects);
- providing assistance to entrepreneurs in developing investment projects (for example, for the best projects that have won the rayon competition LPA will seek financial support from external donors – through ODIMM, JICA, European programs);
- promoting the image of the rayon, attractive to investors (the development of rayon, regional, etc. branding strategy will be he action);
- supporting the creation of small businesses in the rayon to ensure the activity of manufacturing enterprises (especially for the collection of raw materials, including outside the rayon, storage and transport, selling the finished products, including on foreign markets);
- stimulating the cooperation and association of SMEs aimed at increasing their potential, which would create premises for export;
- creating a “one stop shop” that would simplify the process of obtaining information and consultations on entrepreneurship issues and regulations for entrepreneurs;
- improving business education, including expanding citizen participation to ODIMM seminars;
- paying special attention to potential and beginner entrepreneurs – youth; women; those who grow farm produce for personal needs redirecting them to do it as a business for commercial purposes;
- Training of LPA employees in order to gain project writing skills for participation in financing competitions from special government and European funds.
