Geographic location:

The Riscani rayon is located in the northwest of the Republic of Moldova, 166km away from Chisinau – the capital. In the north, the rayon neighbors the Edinet rayon, in the east – the Drochia rayon and the Balti municipality, in the southwest – the Glodeni rayon, in the west – Romania. It has a connection point with the EU. The Costesti Customs Service is the connection point of the rayon with the communities of the Botosani county. The rayon has explored groundwater sources.
