Platform for supporting regional business to appear in north of Moldova

There will be created a communication platform in the north of Moldova to support small and medium – sized businesses as well as attract investment in the region. This issue was discussed at the meeting of the Council of North Development Region (CRD Nord) in Balti on 03 July.

Head of department at North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord), Maria Prisacari, said that this platform would allow evaluation of most effective methods of attracting foreign investment, using international field practices. “There will be identified a number of solutions to ensure a favourable investment climate in RDN Nord and as to benefit small and medium-sized enterprises particularly,” said Maria Prisacari.

The regional communication platform (PRC) will be created within project: “Un nou impuls pentru dezvoltarea afacerilor in Regiunea de Dezvoltare Nord a Republicii Moldova” (A new impulse for business development in the Northern Development Region of Moldova), supported by Czech Government. The programme has a budget of €555 thousand and it will be implemented by the end of 2019. Recently, following a competition organised within this project, six small entrepreneurs from Soroca and Sangerei districts have received financial support and opportunity to benefit from mentoring of Czech Development Agency (ACD).

“We will support any initiative to contribute to development of the region. For half a year we can see that all our plans to be implemented in a timely manner, which is why we should also thank our foreign partners,” stated to agency director of ADR Nord, Vitali Povonschi.

The quoted source said that for 2018, ADR Nord has three priority areas for intervention, such as water and sanitation, energy efficiency of public buildings, and business infrastructure development.
